About Renting Evidence – the Research Network for Renting

Renting Evidence is a network and community of researchers, stakeholders and policymakers working to improve renting based in evidence. We relaunched in 2021 following discussions with academics, practitioners and stakeholders. We identified the lack of evidence available on renting and the need to bring together different groups to share their knowledge to help support better policy-making.

We are a community of researchers, stakeholders and policy-makers committed to improving the rented sectors through research and evidence-informed policy and practice. Renting Evidence acts as a knowledge-exchange hub to bring together academics, policymakers and stakeholders to share knowledge, evidence and information on renting, and to support the development of research on novel issues. We seek collaborative, interdisciplinary and cross-sector approaches to help us to develop evidence-informed policies on renting.

Our purpose

Our community is underpinned by the following core purposes:

• to share research and knowledge across professional, policy and academic groups
• to promote best-practice in research on renting
• to promote opportunities which enable connections to be developed between different groups
• to nurture opportunities for new research and evidence-informed policymaking and practice.

Our activities

Renting Evidence is a knowledge-exchange hub which brings together the community of academics, policymakers, and stakeholders together to share knowledge, evidence and information on renting, and to foster a culture that enables evidence-informed policymaking.

We are planning to undertake the following activities to support us to achieve our purposes:

• Conferences and seminars to share latest research findings
• Webinars and workshops on best-practice in research methods
• Regularly updated blog on latest research findings
